Job Description: IELTS / English Language Teacher Responsible to: Head of Department
Key role: To teach IELTS, EAP and General English courses in an international 6th form college.
Hours: Part-time - to be discussed. We are looking to widen our 'resource bank' of teachers to increase the diversity of courses we offer and the flexibility to do so. Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience.
Duties will include:
- Preparing and delivering IELTS, EAP, Business and General English courses with testing.
- Designing appropriate schemes of work.
- Developing departmental and cross-curricular resources and materials.
- Providing regular feedback on all work, including half-termly report writing.
- Completing departmental and college administration where appropriate.
Requirements
Essential (Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements):
- Diploma in TESOL
- CELTA or Trinity TESOL
- Native or native level English speaker
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and innovative
- Ability to motivate and encourage
Desirable:
- Good undergraduate degree (2i or higher)
- QTS
- MA / MEd in Applied Linguistics
- At least 2 years direct IELTS and/or EAP teaching experience with 4 years overall teaching EFL
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management and planning skills
- Proven ability to work well in a team
